A new way of designing light through glass
For Milano Design Week 2019, Oikoi, a new lighting brand, which originated as the Italian spin-off of a leading Chinese lighting manufacturer, makes it debut in Via Solferino, 11, presenting its first collection.
The Italian design team of Erika Baffico and Sebastiano Tonelli rethinks the way of designing light using glass as a point of departure, which is processed by using the industrial printing technique that enhances the material, creating a product with meticulously defined and designed details and finishes.
In a house in the heart of Brera, an experience-oriented pathway focuses on the transparency of the material through a process of discovery which unfolds room by room. Visitors will thus be able to interact with the material on a visual and tactile level, exploring the characteristics of printed glass and the potential of its industrial-scale production. The different transparencies of glass generate numerous lighting solutions in this way which make the product extremely versatile.
