Founded by Etel Carmona in 1985, ETEL is the major brand authorised today to re-edit pieces from Brazilian design masters in collaboration with the institutes and families of designers such as Jorge Zalszupin, Lina Bo Bardi, José Zanine Caldas, Giuseppe Scapinelli and Oscar Niemeyer. The Milanese space situated in via Maroncelli 13, the first European showroom of the brand, is designed by Superluna architectural studio. A majestic paravent screen made out of precious Brazilian tropical wood dominates the scene and symbolises a tree. The interiors, conceived as a cultural link between Brazil and the city of Milan, wants to recreate the atmosphere of Lina Bo Bardi’s “Casa de Vidro” in Saõ Paulo, a place of distinguished gatherings of the cultural elite in the 50s and 60s.
