For over 130 years Amleto Missaglia pursues an ideal of beauty and elegance with its products: from the exquisite porcelains to delicate blown glasses, up to the finest silverware and gift items, it is a treasure chest of gracefulness and refinement. The cult of beauty is not an ephemeral utopia, but concrete reality made primarily thanks to its point of sale.
At the beginning of 2016, Amleto Missaglia moves in the Renaissance Palazzo Talenti in via Verdi, a few steps from the Teatro alla Scala, for a long time Giacomo Puccini’s residence; the oldest news date back to the mid-fourteenth century when the building is owned by the Friars Minor.
There’s no more suitable building to accommodate the class of a similar store: the columns and the capitals in green stone decorate the courtyard and seem to lead visitors in a timeless place. The new location, in fact, welcomes customers in an atmosphere full of charm where the high vaulted ceilings are adorned with Venini’s magnificent chandeliers that illuminate the broad rooms with a warm light.
However, it is the last hall, with a central majestic column, that represents the point of greatest beauty of this new dwelling: the classic lines of dinnerware and of silver find perfect placement and stand out in all their incomparable splendor, thanks also to the Donghia’s fine furniture which produce an harmonious background.
In this way the more traditional collections are completely highlighted while the charming rooms of the second floor accommodate the current and extravagant products, from Carlo Moretti’s colorful glasses to the unmistakable style of the Rosenthal’s modern porcelains. Yet grace and elegance never fail, surrounding every object and every collection that are chosen with unchanged care and attention by the Missaglia family, now to its fourth generation.
