Exclusive collection and installation
Melissa once more confirms its participation at Fuori Salone 2019 during the Milan Design Week, after great success from the previous two years participating.
From 9th to 14th April 2019, Melissa will be presenting an imaginative installation celebrating their 15 year partnership with Campana brothers, Fernando and Humberto. Inspired by handmade braiding and crochet techniques, the designer duo has developed an intricate and delicate texture that translates perfectly into the unique technology of Melissa and its raw material – PVC.
Melissa will be presenting once again in the beating heart of the Brera Design District, Via Palermo 1.
The installation was created by Campana featuring Brazilian NGO Projeto Arrastão, using pieces of crochet made by the NGO, different artisan collectives and of course, Melissa. These different elements have been combined to create a final body of work that will be exhibited during the Fuori Salone.
The crochet pieces are assembled to cover a pyramidal structure in the center of the main hall, immersing the visitor in the Melissa world and in the heritage of one of the most long-lived and successful collaborations in its history.
The project connects intrinsically with the presentation of the new Melissa / Campana "Crochet" collection, composed of three products with the same characteristic crochet weave.
Melissa Campana Crochet is the hero shoe of the collection. The flat ballerina is comfortable and classic and is available in seven different colors: red, gold, black, white, coral, yellow and pink with glitter.
An exclusive limited edition of Melissa / Campana Crochet in metallic red was created to celebrate the Fuori Salone installation. It will be available for purchase only in the pop-up shop at Via Palermo 1, as well as on Melissa’s Italian e-commerce.
The Melissa Campana Crochet collection also features Melissa Campana Crochet Bag, a versatile shopper with two shoulder strap options, available in four colors: red, yellow, green and white. For the little ones, Melissa proposes Mini Melissa Campana Crochet: a flat model available in red, rose gold with glitter, and black with colored glitter options.
A percentage of the profits from the Campana Brothers collaboration products are reverted to the Campana Institute, whose mission is to preserve the legacy of the Campana Brothers using design as a transformation tool through social and educational projects. The Civil Association of non-profit private rights reaches this goal through partnerships and cooperation agreements with foreign and national institutions, companies, organizations and public and private entities.
