Thayse Viégas is founder of the project Casa Canvas and creator of the format Canvas Talks. Thayse created new forms of promotion for emerging designers, going beyond the traditional concept of curatorship and that of art-design galleries, finding in networking the power to create new communication opportunities.
With Casa Canvas she envisaged a new world and a new way for communicating and promoting design and designers and she realised it.
Canvas Talk is a format born from the idea of creating a networking opportunity between women belonging to the creative industry around a topic: Build and Rebuild. Imaginative capacity, willpower and design dimension are at the basis of these changes and evolutions and Thayse’s objective is to tell these micro stories creating opportunities for sharing and developing new scenarios generated by the relationship between people. Sustainability for us today is also ability to imagine new forms of sharing and networking, between listening and exchange.
Born in Belém do Pará, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, and grown up in Rio de Janeiro, Thayse Viégas is founder and curator of Casa Canvas. From her childhood she has always cultivated a love for beauty and creativity. In 2008 she took a degree in Cinema studies at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and, working in the film industry, she discovered her interest for design. This new passion brought her to Milan where she took a Master’s in Fashion Buying. For her final project Thayse designed a concept store that after five years became real in the project Casa Canvas.
